The Jalen Ramsey saga has finally come to an end.
According to ESPN’s Adam Shefter, the Jacksonville Jaguars will be sending the All-Pro cornerback to the Los Angeles Rams for multiple first-round draft picks and one fourth-rounder.
As Shcefter mentioned, the deal includes first-round picks in the 2020 and 2021 Drafts, and a fourth round pick in 2021.
Ramsey had missed three consecutive games leading up to his trade, citing a back injury and the birth of his daughter for the absence. The Florida State product will fill a massive hole in the Rams’ secondary.
Just hours earlier, the Rams had dealt Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Kenny Young and an undisclosed 2020 draft pick, per Schefter.
Trade rumors arose for Ramsey after the team’s Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans where he had a sideline altercation with head coach Doug Marrone.
After the altercation Ramsey’s agent requested from Jacksonville.
The fifth overall pick in the 2016 Draft had played in every game leading up to the 2019 season.
Currently the Rams secondary has major depth issues. Aqib Talib, a potential Hall of Famer, was placed on IR following a fracture to multiple ribs, and safety John Johnson III is out indefinitely due to a shoulder injury.
Jacksonville will be traveling to Cincinnati next Sunday in an attempt to halt a two-game skid. They are currently two games back in the AFC South, trailing the Houston Texans.
The Rams, on the other hand are trying to snap an uncharacteristic three-game losing streak on the road against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
