Las Vegas sportsbooks track two types of bettors: the public, and the sharps.
The sharps are generally considered to be professional gamblers. And their betting action almost always has a major effect on point spread and point total movement leading up to game time.
Before going on, it’s important to point out that the sharps look for specific numbers (point spreads or point totals) when betting. Once that number moves, the sharps back off. Whereas public bettors tend to simply look at individual teams (often times their favorite team), and base their decisions off of the previous week and nothing more.
With that being said, here’s a look at who the sharps are betting on in Week 11 of the college football season.

Baylor (-1.5)
Opponent: @ TCU
At the time of publication, Baylor was trailing TCU 9-3.
Washington State (-7)
Opponent: @ Cal
WSU and Cal have a combined record of 1-7 in their last eight games. That didn’t scare the sharps away from this one, though. Don’t be surprised if this is a high-scoring affair.
Alabama/LSU over (63.5)
LSU finally has a quarterback (Joe Burrow), and all signs are pointing towards Tua Tagovailoa returning to start for Alabama after suffering a high ankle sprain against Tennessee on October 19. Expect to see a shootout in Tuscaloosa.
Michigan State (-14)
Opponent: Illinois
Illinois is entering this matchup with a three-game winning streak, while Michigan State will be attempting to snap a three-game losing streak. The sharps are clearly expecting Mike Dantonio to right his team’s ship at home.
USC (-1.5)
Opponent: @ Arizona State
Both teams in this matchup have had consistency issues this year. The sharps are simply backing the more talented team here.
