One of the best two-way guards in the NBA is headed to the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster trade.
The New Orleans Pelicans are sending Jrue Holiday to Milwaukee for Eric Bledsoe and George Hill. The Pelicans will also be receiving three first round picks in return along with two future draft pick swaps from Milwaukee, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Holiday will have a cap hit of $26.2 million and has a player option for the 2021-22 season and could become a free agent if he so chooses. His potential free agency would also come at the same time that Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will be a free agent.
The big question around the league is if Antetokounmpo will sign a super-max deal to remain with Milwaukee, despite the Bucks having early exists from the playoffs the last two seasons. A move like this could keep Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee for the long run.
The trio of Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and now Jrue Holiday will more than likely make the Bucks the favorites to win the eastern conference and contend for a NBA title.
Holiday finished last season averaging 19.1 points per game, 6.7 assists, along with 35.5 percent from down town.
