Through 12 weeks, the 2019 NFL betting markets have been all about the underdogs. That trend may continue in Week 13 (it definitely did on the Thanksgiving day slate), but there are a handful of favorites who stand out as strong plays heading into Sunday.
Weather will be a factor on Sunday (particularly on the east coast), which could change things a tad. Nonetheless, the following point spreads and point totals are the most attractive to me at the time of publication.
Odds courtesy of the Westgate Superbook.
Green Bay Packers (-6.5)
The Packers laid an egg in Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers and will be looking to bounce back in Week 13 on the road against the New York Giants.
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense should find success against the Giants’ inconsistent defense, while rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, who has been a turnover machine as of late, will have his hands full with Mike Pettine’s defense.
I love this spread at -6.5 in favor of the Packers, but will back off a bit if it goes above -7.5.
Weather will be a factor here (the forecast is calling for rain), which could also put the under (44.5) in play as well.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers/Jacksonville Jaguars (Over 47.5)
This game has the makings of a good, old-fashioned offensive shootout.
Neither team has been playing well defensively as of late, and both offenses are capable of breaking off a big play at any time.
I have the scoring floor for this game at 50 points, making the current point total (47.5) a tremendous value.
Cleveland Browns (-2)
This matchup will have added intrigue given the ugly incident that occurred at the end of their previous meeting. When it comes down to it, though, the Steelers are beat up (they will likely be without James Conner and Juju Smith-Schuster, and Maurkice Pouncey is still suspended), and undrafted rookie Devlin Hodges will be their starting quarterback.
The Browns have won three straight, and should get their fourth in a row on Sunday.
