Antonio Brown wasn’t on the open market for very long.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Brown has agreed to terms with the New England Patriots just hours after being released by the Oakland Raiders.
According to Schefter, Brown and the Patriots agreed to a one-year contract worth up $15 million, which includes a $9 million signing bonus.
Brown joins a Patriots’ roster that is loaded with talent at the wide receiver position. He will be competing for touches with Julian Edelman, Demaryius Thomas, Josh Gordon, and Phillip Dorsett.
It is also worth pointing out that the acquisition of Brown gives Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady arguably the best group of wide receivers he has ever had during his illustrious career, and solidifies the Patriots as the odds-on favorites to win Super Bowl 54.
At 42-years old, Brady is in a great position to compete for his fourth NFL MVP award and his seventh Super Bowl ring.
This move — taking a chance on a high-talent player with character concerns — is also classic Bill Belichick.
Leave it to the Pats’ head coach and General Manager to go out and add arguably the best wide receiver in the game just months after losing arguably the most dominant tight end to ever play the game (Rob Gronkowski) to retirement.
On that note, the thought of playing in this offense may be enough to lure ‘Gronk’ out of retirement.
Only time will tell, if Brown is willing to check his ego at the door upon arrival in New England. If he does, the Patriots will be scary good on offense. If not, he will be shown without hesitation.
The NFL is officially back and better (or more dramatic) than ever, ladies and gentlemen.

Interesting to see if he gives Bill and Tom the same kind of crap he gave the Raiders. Hate that he went to the Pats!
The Pats must have had the AB deal dealt earlier…can a $15 M contract be confirmed so EZ?😜 only by the Patriots!
